Wild Gower

Overton Mere to Fall Bay

This is the wildest and most dramatic area in Gower. Designated as a site of special scientific interest due to its interesting geology, few tourists venture here. It's the ideal place to get away from it all. It also appeals to rock climbers, since this is where the best cliffs in Gower are found. It's a complex area of contorted rocks and tiny coves. Half way along is Paviland Cave, famous for containing the oldest human skeleton in Britain. The most prominent feature is the Knave, pretty much unknown because of its inaccessability. Mewslade and Fall Bay are dramatic tidal bays with few visitors.
