Snowdonia
Rugged Peaks, Crags and Ridges
Snowdonia National Park is the most dramatic area in Wales, featuring the highest,
steepest and most rugged summits. The area is replete with lakes and waterfalls and offer many activities for
the visitor. It's an extremely popular part of Wales and should be top of the list of places to visit for the
mountain lover.
Geologically, much of the park is composed volcanic rocks, which give rise to the highest peaks. Cadair Idris
was once a huge volcano. Glaciation has also done its work, producing many mountain lakes.
